Partial and Full Dentures in Terrace
The loss of natural teeth can greatly compromise the general health and functionality of the mouth and the person. To restore normal speech and eating habits, as well as to prevent the misaligning of remaining teeth, it is important to replace lost teeth. Denture Services We Offer
Removable Partial Denture
Traditional Removable partial dentures consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored acrylic bases, connected to a metal framework. They attach to your natural teeth with metal clasps. Special crowns can be placed on teeth to allow precision attachments which are more aesthetic than metal clasps because they are nearly invisible. A partial denture may be used when nearby teeth are not strong enough to hold a bridge, when many teeth are missing in a single arch or for financial reasons. Snap on Smile is a newer cosmetic partial that covers all the natural teeth so it gives the appearance of a much more expensive crown and bridge appliance.
Full / Complete Denture
A full denture, sometimes called “false teeth,” resembles the partial denture in that it, too, is composed of replacement teeth embedded in gum-colored acrylic. Unlike the partial denture, however, the full denture does not usually contain metal. Full dentures provide a valuable prosthodontic option for patients who are missing all of their teeth in a single arch. Horizon Dental uses digital technology to provide esthetic and well-fitting dentures. If you are wanting to replace an existing denture, digital imaging and fabrication can closely reproduce the denture you have grown accustom to wearing. Implant retained dentures are also available for those with implants or looking to have implants placed.

How To Take Care of Your Dentures
1. Rinse Dentures After Meals
Removing and rinsing your dentures after eating will ensure that they are clean and have no food stuck in them.
2. Handle With Care
Dentures are delicate. Make sure you care for them and do not attempt to bend or fold them. Any adjustments required must be done by the dentist in the office.
3. Clean Your Mouth Regularly
Brush your teeth at least once a day and clean your mouth with a soft-bristled toothbrush on a regular basis. Ideally, this should be done every time you remove your dentures. You should also clean your tongue and inner cheek. Also, rinse your mouth and ensure it is clean before putting it in your dentures.
4. Soak Overnight
Soak your dentures in water or in a mild denture-soaking solution overnight so that they stay soft and hydrated and thus, maintain their shape.
5. Get Regular Checkups
Regular visits to your dentist will ensure that your denture remains effective and comfortable.
